Terms of Service
The terms for buying and using our document packs
Not legal advice. Our templates give general information to help you run your business. They are not legal advice. For advice on your own situation, speak to a solicitor.
1. About us
Local Sorted (localsorted.com) is a trading name of POLICYANDPLAY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. We are not VAT registered.
Email: hello@localsorted.com
These terms apply when you buy from or use localsorted.com. Please read them with our refunds policy and privacy policy.
2. What we sell
Local Sorted sells document templates for UK small businesses, in packs for each trade. Each trade pack has two one-off options:
- Starter: £29, one-off payment
- Pro: £49, one-off payment. Includes everything in Starter plus the Pro documents
The documents in each pack are listed on that trade's page. Packs do not renew and there is no subscription. A pack covers one trade only.
3. Prices and payment
We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. The price shown is the total you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe at checkout.
4. How the contract is formed
Before you pay, you tick a box asking for immediate access (see section 6). The contract is formed when Stripe confirms your payment. We then email you how to set your password and sign in.
5. Access to your documents
Your documents are available in your account shortly after payment. You fill them in online and save them as PDF. Access to a pack does not expire. If we revise a document, the new version appears in your account at no extra cost. We may occasionally take the site offline for maintenance and will try to keep this short.
6. Your right to cancel
As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, that right ends once access starts, but only if you asked for immediate access and acknowledged that you would lose the right (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, regulation 37). We ask you to do this with a tick box before checkout. Full details, including your rights if a document is faulty, are in our refunds policy.
7. Your licence to use the templates
We own the templates. When you buy a pack, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use and adapt its templates for your own business, and to give completed documents to your own clients. You may not resell, share, publish or give away the templates themselves, or use them to make a competing product. One pack covers one business.
8. Templates are not legal advice
Our templates are a starting point written for general UK use. You are responsible for checking a document suits your situation before you use it, and for your own insurance, regulatory and data protection obligations.
9. Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and do not share your account. We may suspend an account if we reasonably believe it is being used to copy or redistribute templates, or for fraud. If we do, we will tell you why. We will only withhold a refund where the law allows.
10. Our responsibility to you
If you buy as a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
Our packs are sold for use in your business. If you buy as a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, and our total liability to you for any purchase is limited to the price you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or our service changes. The terms in force when you bought a pack apply to that purchase. If we make a material change that affects something you have already bought, we will email you first.
12. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, email hello@localsorted.com. We aim to reply within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
