Catering contractsthat hold up.
For event caterers, mobile food businesses and private chefs taking bookings in the UK.
An event catering agreement should fix the menu, final guest numbers deadline, deposit and balance dates, what the venue must provide and how allergen information is handled. This pack gives you that agreement plus a deposit and cancellation policy and an allergen record covering all 14 major allergens.

Questions, answered.
What should a catering contract include?
The event details, menu, guest numbers and when they become final, the price and deposit, when the balance is due, what the venue provides, allergen and dietary information, cancellation terms and your public liability insurance.
Can I keep a deposit if a client cancels?
You can keep an amount that reflects the genuine costs and losses a cancellation causes you. A deposit set far above that risks being an unfair term under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The policy in this pack uses tiered amounts by notice period for that reason.
Which allergens do I have to tell customers about?
The 14 major allergens: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, and sulphur dioxide and sulphites. The Allergen Information Record lays them out dish by dish.
Is there a food safety risk assessment?
Yes, in the Pro pack: an off-site event food safety risk assessment covering transport, chilled and hot holding temperatures, cross-contamination, allergens and handwashing at the venue.
Can I edit the documents?
Yes. Fill them in online, save as PDF, or download Word files with the Pro pack.
