What should a videographer contract include?

Coverage hours, the films and formats delivered and the delivery timescale, the fee and deposit, travel and meals, copyright and the couple's licence to use the film, consent for using footage in your portfolio, and cancellation and postponement terms.

Who owns the copyright in a wedding video?

Under UK law the person who creates the work usually owns the copyright, even when the couple paid for it. The copyright clause above keeps copyright with you and gives the couple a personal licence to share and keep the film.

Can I use the footage in my showreel?

Only with the couple's permission for each use. The Photo and Video Usage Consent form lets them choose website, social media, awards or print, and opt guests or children out.
